RECYCLED
COTTON
Recycled cotton textiles use pre and post consumer waste and helps to decrease the consumption of virgin cotton.
Using recycled fibres helps to reduce the negative impacts of cotton farming like water consumption, CO2 emissions, intensive land use, level of insecticides and pesticides used and gives a new life to textile waste instead of ending in a landfill.

WHAT IS RECYCLED COTTON?
Recycled cotton can be defined as cotton fabric converted into cotton fibre that can be reused in new textile products. This cotton is also known as reclaimed or regenerated cotton.
Cotton can be recycled from pre-consumer (post-industrial) and post-consumer cotton waste. Pre-consumer waste comes from the remains of yarns and fabrics that are discarded in the process of cutting and making clothing, home textiles and other textile accessories.
Post-consumer waste come from discarded textile products whose cotton fibres will be reused in the development of a new textile product.
The largest amount of recycled cotton is generated through pre-consumer waste. What originates from post- consumption is much more difficult to classify and reprocess due to the variety of colors involved and the mix of fibers.

Our collection made of pre-consumer recycled cotton
We are committed to create more recycled cotton collections and reduce the amount of energy, water and
chemicals products that are used in the conventional/virgin cotton.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF
RECYCLED COTTON FABRICS?
Recycled cotton fabric has the potential to greatly reduce water and energy consumption in the textile industry. These are the main benefits of using recycled cotton fabric:
The amount of energy, water, and dye needed is less than the amount used to grow and generate virgin cotton, because we are using a product that has already been processed. Since recycled cotton yarns most commonly are sourced from pre-consumer textile scraps that are sorted by color, the yarns are already dyed.
Many products are diverted from what would be their inevitable and ultimate destination, landfills. Annual textile waste is estimated to equal 25 billion pounds.
The CO2 and fossil fuel emission savings can be partially reduced by using existing materials, in concrete, we can save 35% emissions in greenhouse gas and CO2.
In short, when you chose a recycled cotton fabric, you reduce the side effects of cotton farming on the environment, you avoid textile waste to be disposed in landfills or to be incinerated, and you help circularity production to become a reality in the textile industry.
GLOBAL RECYCLED STANDARD
The GRS certification is an international, voluntary, full product standard that sets out requirements for third-party certification of recycled content, chain of custody, social and environmental practices and chemical restrictions.
The goal of the Global Recycled Standard is to drive higher percentages of recycled content in products and reduce the harmful impact of production on people and the environment.
When it comes to the recycled content of textiles, the GRS confirms a responsible use of resources and processes that have the least possible impact on human health and the planet.
The Global Recycled Standard verifies recycled content in products to empower consumers to make informed decisions and is a widely recognized standard around the globe.

RESPONSIBLE PRODUCTION
PROCESS
During the recycling process, the cotton waste is processed with stripping machines that break the yarns and fabric into smaller pieces before pulling them apart into fibre. The mix is carded several times in order to clean and mix the fibres before they are spun into new yarns and later, into recycled textiles.
