  • Hispano Tex launches new fabric for printing

    Lienzo, a natural printbase

Along with all the trends we are publishing for Spring/Summer 2018 collection now in September, we have developed a new fine natural fabric for printing called Lienzo, which means “artistic canvas” in Spanish.

    IMG_5721R HispanoTex Lienzo

Lienzo is a plain woven canvas style fabric with 80% BCI cotton (Better Cotton Initiative) and 20% of linen/cotton combined yarn, a 100% natural organic and biodegradable print base with a soft touch and fall, totally breathable, with 160 grams produced in our standard width of 280cm.

We will be using soon Lienzo in many collection prints from now on, first one is Series Poetic, which trend we published just last month (check this series)

While most producers of the world produce flat-woven linen/cotton fabrics consumed mainly in plain colors, most of worldwide printers are still going with the traditional cotton/polyester blends (commonly known as “lonetas” in the cheap market) and only a few decide to provide a natural cotton canvas.

Yet, Hispano Tex innovates by bringing to the market a unique canvas fabric made of natural yarns only, both cotton and linen: so you get the benefits of the cotton, but the looks of the linen.

  • HOW TO CLEAN EVERY KIND OF FABRIC

    Washing and care instructions

In Hispano Tex we are aware of the importance of washing and care instructions in all our fabrics, for this reason we want to give you an overview of the key fabric categories, information about care symbols and the value of correct drying and finishing procedures.

So let's go through the most common types of fabrics —from natural fibers to synthetic ones— and learn the proper way to wash and care for each of them. It is critical this information is clear to all our clients so you can include the correct washing and care instructions in the finished manufactured items containing Hispano Tex fabrics.

    Cotton

Cotton is probably the most popular fabric in the world. It is a natural fibre, easily washed and/or dry cleaned. Cotton fabrics are usually strong and one of the most durable made of natural yarns. It is also very absorbent and easy to work with. It does have a tendency to wrinkle very easily, hence the popularity of cotton-polyester blends.

For more specific information, please click here to see the technical sheet for a nature cotton fabric called MICADO, which is done with BCI organic cotton.

    Linen

Linen is a natural cellulosic fibre that is very strong and irons nicely. It is often used for tablecloths, sheets, and curtains. But lately it is used also for upholstery and cushions…

Linen has a nice fall and a fresh touch. Absorption is lower than in Cotton but linen yarns are quite resistant. As all other natural fabrics, linen fabrics must be washed according to recommendations in order to avoid shading or shrinkages.

Check our complete technical sheet here.

    Polyester

Polyester is a strong and durable synthetic fabric made of plastic. It is very durable and has a high wrinkle resistance make it one of the most commonly used fabrics in the world. It dries quickly and can be washable in warm wash cycle, so check our technical sheet here.

    Poly-Cotton

Poly-Cotton is made by combining yarns of cotton and polyester. With this combination we obtain the benefits from both materials: natural effects of cotton for softness and moisture absorption with the no-iron wrinkles of polyester. Most of the times you have a dominant fibre in the fabric. Check here our technical sheet for detailed information for poly-cotton fabrics.

    Acrylic

Acrylic is another synthetic fabric, very popular because of their ability to retain their shape and texture after washing and drying.

Due to its synthetic construction, acrylic is machine washable. It's best to use a warm wash cycle and you can iron if needed—just use a medium heat setting. Check our detailed instruction here.

    Kitchen Fabrics

Dressing nicely a dining table, putting stylish curtains in the kitchen window or even have the fireproof apron matching the oven gloves have become crucial of all houses in the world.

We see some retail brands focusing their stores in providing in vogue kitchen stuff (from pottery to dishes to kitchen textiles) already creating their own strong trends. In north of Europe we have people like Dille & Kamille, in  south Europe we find the people of Muy Mucho o A Loja do Gato Preto, while in the USA you see the Williams-Sonoma stores… Some of them even organize culinary events with reknown cheffs to promote their own products.

Now, in a world influenced by TV programs like MasterCheff or My Kitchen Rules, enabling added-value functionality in a table cloth or an apron have thus become a must. It is not only about putting a good fabric there with a cute design, but what the fabric can do for you. Here at Hispano Tex we are experts in finishing fabrics for kitchen usage. Right now our best-seller treatments are:

    • Acrylic coating: with two layers of a thin acrylic coating applied on the surface of the fabric plus a fluorcarbon treatment, it makes it highly resistant to spills and stains.
    • Teflon® Shield&clean by Dupont® makes them more resistant to spills and stains and easy to wash and dry. Teflon has a more natural finish than other similar products, and properties can be reactivated after washing just by ironing the reverse.
    • Permanent fireproof and hypoallergenic: Decosafe® fabrics are 100% natural and made of COEX®, providing permanent fireproof and hypoallergenic features which are essential in kitchenwear.

Most of the design prints in our stock program are printed in poly-cotton fabrics that can be coated and used for table clothing. In the case of Lainen, this is a beautiful 100% linen and 280 grams, with soft touch and fall, since it is sanforized.
